At attention while saluting? It depends, I was in service at Command Headquarters, usually as Commander of the Internal Guard, at the beginning, I made a lot of "attention" and saluting, but there were high officers everywhere and they had to respond, very unpractical for everybody! Ranger Jim, I was in from 1989-1993 and, yes, soldiers could (and did salute) while walking. However, the pose I have issues with is the pose of M4 and V4 saluting WHILE STANDING STILL) with his and her feet shoulder width apart (the very first pose for each in the sample image); when they're AT EASE. Not so, Tramp. From the early '60s to the mid-'70s when I was in the US Atmy, should someone meet a ranking officer outside, the the lower ranking person did salute while walking (although the head should be turned to face the senior). Not a bad set of poses. There is one glaring error you made in some of them though, namely the saluting poses. When saluting, you are supposed to be standing at "attention". This includes having legs together, knees straight, (but not locked, that can cause you to pass out), feet at a 45Â° angle, heels together. You have the legs separated, shoulder width apart.
