Exelis to showcase image analysis solutions for desktop, cloud and mobile GIS at 2012 Esri® International User Conference

BOULDER, Colo., July 19, 2012 – Exelis Visual Information Solutions (Exelis VIS), a subsidiary of Exelis Inc. (NYSE: XLS), will showcase “Imagery Everywhere” solutions for geographic information system (GIS) users at the annual Esri International User Conference July 24-26.

The company’s participation at the show will highlight how ENVI image analysis software products make adding pertinent information from geospatial imagery to mapping applications seamless for the GIS user, regardless of the user’s location or working environment.

“ENVI has evolved to meet the changing needs of GIS users, providing image analysis capabilities and fully processed geospatial products where and when they need geographic knowledge,” said Jaye Lampe, Exelis Visual Information Solutions president. “Now, whether  users are operating in a traditional desktop environment, as part of a large enterprise system, or in the field with a mobile device, they can easily use imagery to make more informed decisions.”

Exelis VIS will give live Imagery Everywhere presentations at Exelis booth 1413 in the exhibit hall to demonstrate the tight integration between ENVI products and the Esri ArcGIS® software system.  Demonstrated solutions will feature:

  • ENVI desktop solutions for GIS with the recently released ENVI 5, which introduces a new, dynamic display to make analyzing imagery faster and easier for users of any experience level.
  • ENVI enterprise and cloud-based solutions for GIS, featuring ENVI for ArcGIS® Server, which allows ArcGIS users to deliver ENVI’s advanced image analysis tools directly to the ArcGIS enterprise environment.
  • ENVI mobile solutions for GIS provide fast and easy consumption of imagery-based products from ArcGIS Online, as well as the capability to display ENVI-derived content on mobile clients.
