Optech delivers two lidar systems to Cobb Engineering Company

Toronto, Canada, February 12, 2013 — Optech, the world leader in the development, manufacture and support of advanced lidar and camera survey instruments, is pleased to announce  the sale of an Optech Lynx M1 Mobile Mapper and an Optech ILRIS Terrestrial Laser Scanner to Cobb Engineering Company (CEC) in Oklahoma, USA.

CEC delivers technically superior and highly professional services in a consistent, ethical and cost-effective manner, and attributes the investment in providing mobile and terrestrial lidar solutions to the company’s desire to continue diversifying CEC disciplines. “We were looking at initiatives to better serve our current clients and industry utilizing the latest technology. Investing in lidar technology enables us to meet the various project scopes by safer, more efficient means while enhancing the amount of information compared to traditional surveying practices,” said Marty Hepp, Cobb Engineering Company’s President and Owner. “The relationship that has been fostered between Cobb Engineering Company and Optech left us with no uncertainty that Optech was the best provider of the solutions we desired.”

"We're very pleased to be able to help Cobb Engineering deliver project information safely, more cost-effectively and in more detail than ever before," says Albert Iavarone, Business Unit Manager. "It's a highly professional firm and we look forward to working with them further. Our systems deliver the industry's best survey solution for tight-tolerance applications that demand maximum data precision and accuracy. The engineering-grade data from our vehicle-mounted Lynx Mobile Mapper and our fully portable and field-ready ILRIS will enable CEC to deliver actionable data and complete 3D models to their clients."

CEC took delivery of both systems in January and has already successfully completed several surveys.
