Summit Semiconductor and Anaview Partner to Expand Availability of Amplifiers for Wireless Home Theater Speaker Applications

PORTLAND, OR -- (Marketwired) -- Jan 02, 2014 -- Summit Semiconductor, a leader in advanced wireless home audio technologies and an advisory board member of the Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA™) Association, announces a relationship with Anaview, a leading supplier of OEM Class D amplifier modules used in conjunction with Summit receive modules for powered speakers. The first Anaview product supporting Summit speaker modules is the ALA0050, a small form, two channel amplifier capable of 25 watts per channel. The business card sized analog amplifier can be powered from a single DC-supply that delivers a clean, room-filling sound.

Summit and Anaview both support the WiSA Compliance Test Specification (CTS). The CTS outlines an interoperability testing and certification program aimed at products that offer wireless, interference-free, uncompressed HD audio.

Class D Amplifier Features:

  • 2x25Wrms into 6(Ohms) @ 1% THD
  • Differential patented adaptive pole control (APC) technology
  • 65kHz load independent frequency range (-3dB)
  • Very low total harmonic distortion (THD) in the audio band
  • 117dB dynamic range
  • Output impedance < 10m(Ohms) from 20Hz to 20kHz
  • Differential inputs with 0.1% resistors for improved CMRR
  • CE approved

"The world is changing from passive to powered speakers with wireless audio solutions leading the way," said Tony Parker, vice president of marketing, Summit Semiconductor. "Partnering with leading amplifier companies like Anaview will help to accelerate market development of wireless speakers compliant to the WiSA test specification while saving our customers months of development time and engineering expense."

"We believe that the demand for high-bandwidth wireless audio technology and compact hi-fidelity amplifiers like ours is creating a viable market for wireless speakers," said Rich Spina, vice president of Anaview.
