The Los Angeles Film School Celebrates Its Inaugural Entertainment Business Bachelor Of Science Graduating Class

New Bachelor of Science Programs Launched to Prepare Students for Entertainment Business Careers

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 14, 2014 — (PRNewswire) —   The Los Angeles Film School, a creative arts college that offers students an immersive experience, world-class facilities and a supportive culture in preparation for a career in the entertainment industry, commemorates its first graduating class of the Entertainment Business Bachelor of Science degree program. The commencement ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 14, 2014 in the school's Main Theater.

The Los Angeles Film School Graduation

The newly-minted Entertainment Business Bachelor of Science degree program, which builds on The Los Angeles Film School's four Associate degree programs in Film Production, Recording Arts, Game Production and Computer Animation, is an accelerated 18-month course of study offered to students who already hold an Associate's degree from any accredited institution. The new degree prepares students for careers focused on the business of entertainment, with core training in management, leadership, marketing, accounting, finance, intellectual property, digital distribution, and more.

"Each month of every year we will continue to refine the program to the specific needs of our students," said Hal Lieberman, head of the Entertainment Business Bachelor of Science program. "Our students are deeply connected to all of the media arts – it's our job to find the right balance of creative instructors that can provide comprehensive instruction across all media, from film, music, and recording, to animation and gaming."

Instead of working in a traditional classroom environment, students collaborate in a professional, project-based environment designed to recreate real-world challenges they will face in the entertainment industry. The program emphasizes ethics and corporate social responsibility, as well as the communication skills necessary for a successful career. Students gain knowledge in areas such as licensing, digital distribution and intellectual property – topics at the forefront of a rapidly-shifting industry.
