9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. (PDT)

As a developer, you can use ArcGIS Runtime SDKs to build geospatial apps that work when offline.

To familiarize yourself with that technology, tune in to the live training seminar Develop Offline Apps Using the ArcGIS Runtime SDKs on April 24, 2014.

Today, many companies provide mobile access to company systems. Users who work in areas that lack a network connection need to be able to collect and edit geospatial data on their mobile devices when they are offline.

The seminar presenters will show you how to build native applications that provide offline capabilities for viewing and editing geographic information system (GIS) data without an Internet connection. You will learn how to build apps that let your users route and find places while in a disconnected environment.

After viewing this seminar, you will understand how to build apps that

  • Bring basemaps and operational data onto a device so that people can use and update information when offline.
  • Give users the ability to edit and synchronize data changes back to a GIS.
  • Provide users with capabilities such as displaying, symbolizing, and selecting offline map features.
  • Adhere to best practices so that you can give your users a great experience when they work with their data offline.

This seminar will be of interest to application software developers who must build offline solutions for mobile devices and desktop machines.

A basic understanding of the ArcGIS Runtime SDK architecture is preferred. A general understanding of ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS for Server technology is recommended but not required.

You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Global Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Global Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address.
