Esri and 1776 Team Up to Support Emerging Businesses

More Than 240 Startups to Gain Access to ArcGIS Online Software, Training

Redlands, California Sep 19, 2014 — Esri, the world leader in geospatial technology and mapping software, welcomed 1776, a startup incubator in Washington, D.C, today as the newest addition to the Esri Emerging Business Program. The three-year program is designed to empower small companies to solve big problems with the use of geospatial technology.

The Emerging Business Program will provide access to software, services, and visibility for 1776’s startup companies, allowing them to build mapping and location analytics capabilities into their product by leveraging Esri ArcGIS software, services, and content.

“Today’s entrepreneurs need more than just startup funds and an innovative product to thrive. By factoring in location, their business intelligence can be turned into more valuable actionable information,” Jack Dangermond, president, Esri, said. “Our Esri Emerging Business Program will deliver the necessary tools critical for the 1776 innovators to succeed in today’s volatile business environment. By giving them the technology they need to analyze geographic patterns and relationships, more robust products and platforms can be created.”

Key benefits of the program include access to an ArcGIS Online subscription, an ArcGIS for Server license, the Esri Developer Network package, training, support, and maintenance as well as opportunities to attend and exhibit at Esri conferences and co-market with Esri business teams.

The Esri Emerging Business Program makes it possible for up-and-coming businesses to integrate Esri’s ArcGIS software easily into their operations. Moreover, this offering will serve to grow Esri’s relationship with 1776 as well as its member companies working to tackle major challenges within education, energy, health, local government, and other critical industries.
