Launch of ACE 2.0: New Calculator Quantifies Value of Manufacturing in America

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1, 2014 — (PRNewswire) — The U.S. Department of Commerce today announced it is unveiling a new version of the Assess Costs Everywhere (ACE) website.  The updated version of ACE will include a new calculator that helps businesses quantify the costs of having long lead times and understand precisely the potential value of locating manufacturing operations and supply chains in America.

"The new ACE tool shows how choosing to manufacture in America fosters huge savings by allowing firms to shorten their lead times," said Commerce Department Chief Economist Sue Helper.  "Many firms will find that they can reduce their costs by 20-30%, even before considering other costs of having far-flung supply chains. We are excited to launch this important new aspect of ACE 2.0 today."
