Upgrade to Accela Land Management and Licensing and Case Management Streamlines Permitting and Licensing across the City, Enhances Communication with Citizens

SAN RAMON, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 10, 2014 — Accela, the leading provider of civic engagement solutions for government, today announced the City of Longmont, Colorado, is now live with Land Management and Licensing and Case Management solutions on the Accela Civic Platform.

Home to over 92,000 residents, the City of Longmont is located northeast of the county seat of Boulder and boasts more than 1,500 acres of park space and more than 30 miles of lakes, reservoirs and waterways. To serve Longmont’s growing population, the Departments of Planning, Building/Permitting, Code Enforcement and Engineering selected Accela Land Management and Accela Licensing and Case Management to streamline permitting, licensing, code enforcement and other civic processes.

In addition to using Accela Land Management and Licensing and Case Management, the agency will benefit from:

Citizen Access, a user-friendly web portal that provides an intuitive interface for initiating and tracking information. The solution will extend to iOS, Android and Windows mobile tablets and smartphones, giving inspectors and field agents access to documents in real time and the ability to update project files from their mobile devices.

Electronic Document Review (EDR), an enterprise project review and management system for regulatory documents, such as plans, architectural drawings and licenses, required to be submitted in support of plan application and renewals.

“Longmont is a longstanding Accela customer and we are delighted to be able to help them modernize civic operations across the City,” said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. “By taking advantage of the capabilities of the Accela Civic Platform including Land and Licensing Management, users within the City, contractors, developers and citizens will benefit from streamlined process, online access and improved communications. These solutions will save Longmont time and money and will maximize value for its citizens.”

Accela is partnering with Woolpert, Inc. for assistance with analysis, testing and integration efforts.
