New XMC Modules Feature Xilinx® Kintex™-7 FPGA

Acromag's new XMC-7K family of user-configurable Kintex-7 FPGA modules are ideal for Aerospace and COTS applications that demand high-performance customized embedded systems

WIXOM, Mich., Feb. 25, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  Acromag's new XMC-7K is a family of XMC mezzanine modules enhanced with Xilinx® Kintex™-7 FPGA for low-power consumptions and exceptional 128M x 64-bit DDR3 SDRAM processing performance. Reconfigurable Kintex-7 FPGA is possible via a direct download into the Flash configuration memory over the PCIe bus or the JTAG port. Eight-lane high-speed serial interface on rear P15 connector for PCI Express Gen 1/2 (standard), Serial RapidI/O, 10-Gigabit Ethernet, and Xilinx Aurora implementations are supported. Rear I/O provides 4 or 8-lane high-speed serial interface on the P16 XMC port. SelectI/O or LVDS pairs plus global clock pairs direct to FPGA via rear P4 or P16 port. The FPGA serves as a co-processor applying custom logic and algorithms to streams of remote sensor data. Typical applications include hardware simulation, communications, in-circuit diagnostics, military servers, signal intelligence, and image processing. Designed and manufactured in the USA, lead-free modules are available in a variety of configurations beginning at $4,400.

Acromag's new XMC-7K family of user-configurable Kintex-7 FPGA modules are ideal for Aerospace and COTS applications that demand high-performance customized embedded systems.

"Migration to a standard protocol running on a well-defined medium such as Gigabit Ethernet, Serial RapidI/O, or Aurora allows IP cores to be developed that can be easily supported for the long term," commented Joseph Primeau, Acromag's embedded sales and marketing director.

Build options include the choice of a Xilinx XC7K325T or XC7K410T FPGA device. Acromag's XMC-7K family offers highly efficient and dependable module. Options include plug-in I/O, dual SFP+ ports, or conduction-cooled for extended temperature. An engineering design kit provides user with basic information required to develop a custom FPGA program. Software support packages are available for VxWorks® 32-bit, Windows® DLL, and Linux™.
