Los Angeles, 8th November - During the 19th edition of the Communicating the Museum conference the exhibition design of Tinker imagineers for the Danish museum TIRPITZ has received the International Design and Communication Award, in the category Best Scenography for a Permanent Collection. The prestigious IDCA Awards honours creative excellence in design and communication within the museum and art sector.

“Working with Tinker imagineers on the Tirpitz exhibitions has been a privilege and we are thrilled with the results. Winning the IDCA Award is a great honour and to us a proof of the value of an excellent idea, great skills and good cooperation,” says Claus Kjeld Jensen, Director of Varde Museum / Tirpitz.

Rhythms of nature

TIRPITZ transforms and expands a German WWII bunker into a museum complex compromising four exhibitions, seamlessly embedded into the protected shorelands of Blåvand in western Denmark. Tinker imagineers enhanced the strong connection of the architecture of Bjarke Ingels Group with the sturdy countryside. Visitors experience a scenic journey through time and space of West Jutland that comes to life following the rhythms of nature. Décor and AV hardware are produced by Kloosterboer Décor.

Success

The visitor experience is already a great success. The museum has welcomed over 170.000 people in nearly 4,5 months after it’s grand opening. The scenography is also nominated for the 2017 FX International Interior Design Awards (UK), category Museum Or Exhibition Space, organized by FX Magazine. Winners will be announced at 29
