Registration opens for the second Professional PLM Steering Group Meeting of the Foundation Stage

Oxford, England. September 02 2019 -- The Professional PLM Steering Group will hold the second meeting of the Foundation Stage in the form of two 3-hour sessions on 10 September and 12 September, both at 14:00 [UK].

The sessions will be held via webex, and practitioners from around the world may take part. Registration is now open.

The Meeting will review progress since the Launch, and plans for the next phase of work which includes:-

  • defining a neutral, standard skill set and syllabus;

  • producing an international 'Case for PLM'; and,

  • producing a worldwide map of PLM Education provision.

This Meeting will also focus on two issues that are at the heart of the long-term future of PLM:-

  • internationalising the PLM industry; and,

  • producing a PLM Strategy for the Digital Wave.

The Meeting is open to PLM practitioners from any organisation and from any country, and delegates automatically become part of the Steering Group.

Taking part gives you the inside track as professionalism takes its first steps.  It is a chance to help guide the overall direction of PLM, and to be among the first to apply the results.  There is a comprehensive induction to bring new participants up to speed.

Full details and a Registration Form can be found on the Professional PLM web site. More information can be requested via steering@professionalplm.org.

About the Professional PLM Initiative
The Professional PLM Initiative was launched in 2017 in response to the lack of professional recognition for PLM practitioners. Its current aim is for its Steering Group to be able to oversee the development of a recognised PLM Profession by the end of 2020.
