MachineWorks releases new multi-axis additive technology demonstration

Sheffield, UK | May 22nd, 2024 - MachineWorks Ltd is pleased to announce the availability of a new technology demonstration showing how to create and simulate multi-axis additive toolpaths using Polygonica and MachineWorks.

The new demonstration code focuses on creating toolpaths specifically for additive repair operations. The examples use Polygonica's Boolean engine to identify volumes of worn regions, and Polygonica's 3D curve and imprint curve operations to create intersect and surface offset curves aimed at multi-axis robot and hybrid infill. Polygonica's fast solid offset is used to create offset surfaces for successive layers.

The demonstration also shows how the MachineWorks SDK can be used to create a geometric model of the new material created during the additive process, which can be further analysed within MachineWorks or exported back to Polygonica for downstream processing.

Further information is available on the Polygonica website.
