Informative Graphics Announces Automated Redaction for EMC Documentum

LAS VEGAS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 20, 2008— Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in viewing, collaboration and redaction technology and member of the EMC Velocity2 program, announced today the release of its Redact-It Enterprise Server software for EMC® Documentum®. Redact-It intelligently removes privacy information like Social Security numbers, names and phone numbers before making documents available to a wider audience. The integration solution is being debuted this week at EMC World 2008 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Redact-It Enterprise offers integrators the ability to perform batch redaction of document, imaging and PDF files. It automatically removes all instances of specified privacy information from files or directories, including Social Security numbers, a persons name, birth dates, email addresses and monetary amounts. For example, Redact-It can be used to cleanse privacy information from personal records, including healthcare and immunization records, loan applications and public records.

End users can also use Redact-Its simple interface directly from the EMC Documentum to select from a list of pre-defined privacy information macros, search for a particular word or phrase (or a list of words/phrases), or apply a redaction template for standard forms.

Redact-It is the only solution of its kind that can intelligently detect and remove privacy information. It completely removes the information and creates a new PDF or TIFF rendition, so the redacted content is completely irretrievable and the source file is left untouched in the repository. No metadata or hidden content is transferred to the rendition.

EMC is pleased that IGC continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in enterprise content management this time with its Redact-IT solution, said Barry Ruditsky, Vice President of OEM Sales and ISV Business Development, Content Management & Archiving, EMC Corporation. We look forward continuing to work with IGC to ensure that our mutual customers have the highest level of support possible for their information infrastructure initiatives.

The demand for intelligent redaction is growing rapidly as government and enterprises struggle to find ways to publish electronic documents without exposing privacy information, said Gary Heath, president and CEO of IGC. We are proud not only to be the first enterprise-class redaction offering integrated to EMC Documentum, but to offer a product that can be part of the workflow and be used interactively by the end user.
