Pictometry to Showcase Technologies at CAMA Show in Charleston , SC

Rochester, NY, – February 9, 2009 – Pictometry International Corp., a leading provider of geo-referenced aerial image libraries whose patented and proprietary technology is used globally to capture oblique imagery, will be showcasing its state-of-the-art technologies at the 2009 GIS/CAMA Technologies Conference hosted by URISA (Urban and Regional Information Systems Association) and IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers) February 9-11 in Charleston, SC.

Pictometry is exhibiting its popular automated change detection tool, Pictometry ChangeFindr™. Using Pictometry imagery, this product combines Pictometry’s Change Analysis™ technology and Hitachi Soft’s House Diff™ to create a one-of-a-kind automated tool that gives users a high resolution, 3D like visual comparison of properties over time. Also on display will be Pictometry’s new web-based solution, Pictometry Online™ (POL). This technology makes it possible for users to access Pictometry Intelligent Images™ remotely as well as in the office, using just a web browser through a password-protected wireless Internet connection. POL also makes it possible for more users to access imagery without the costs associated with installations and upgrades.

“These technologies integrate easily with GIS and CAMA systems so assessors can create a powerful productivity enhancing tool,” said Wayne Trout , former IAAO president and retired assessor. In just the first year of use, for example, Pictometry user Tony Lindauer, Chief Assessor in Jefferson County , KY reported a 70% decrease in field costs and a 281% increase in staff productivity. “Once people experience the power of Pictometry solutions, it’s hard for them to imagine working without them.”

Pictometry products feature aerial oblique imagery captured by the company’s proprietary image capture system. These images are captured at an angle (as opposed to traditional orthogonal images which are captured at an angle directly overhead for a rooftop view) and produce high resolution images that reveal a property detail such as windows and doors and gives users up to 12 different 3D-like views. Images are also geo-referenced making it possible to use the imagery to measure structures from the desktop convenience of a computer. Pictometry imagery is currently used by counties in 49 states across America .

“In today’s economy, it is more important than ever to have a tool that enables users to save time and money,” said Dante Pennacchia , Chief Marketing Officer for Pictometry. “Pictometry’s technology makes it easy to see more, find more and share more.”
