Cadence Design Systems Sponsors User Track and Management Day at 46th DAC

BOULDER, Colo.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 11, 2009— The 46th Design Automation Conference (DAC) announced today that Cadence Design Systems will be the exclusive sponsor for the conference’s User Track and Management Day, which are two major components of this year’s program. The 46th DAC will be held July 26 – 31, 2009 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

“Our mission is to provide solutions that enable engineers to deliver complex designs and lower the business risk their companies face,” said Tom Cooley, senior vice president of worldwide field operations at Cadence Design Systems. “The goals of DAC’s User Track and Management Day align well with this objective and we are pleased to sponsor these important elements of the program this year.”

The new DAC User Track will focus on engineering solutions to real design problems using EDA products and highlighting best practices in the use of tool flows and methodologies. The goal of this track, which will feature up to eight sessions and approximately 42 paper and 45 poster presentations over three conference days, is to share challenges and benefits of tool usage, providing educational and networking benefits for end-users as well as tool developers.

Cadence will also be the exclusive sponsor of DAC’s Management Day, which has become a popular part of the DAC program, sitting at the intersection of business and technology. Designed to provide managers with timely information to help hone strategic decision-making skills, Management Day features presentations by eminent managers representing leading integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and major fabless companies, and provides a unique opportunity for managers to gain insights from their peers in the industry.

“User Track and Management Day are examples of the specialized content in the DAC program that meets the needs of all of our attendees, from design engineers to executives,” said Yervant Zorian, EDA Industry Chair on the 46th DAC Executive Committee. “We are pleased that Cadence will be exhibiting in multiple locations, including the new IC Design Chain pavilion, on the show floor and sponsoring these events that reach key audiences at DAC.”

About DAC

The Design Automation Conference (DAC) is recognized as the premier event for the design of electronic circuits and systems, and for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and silicon solutions. A diverse worldwide community representing more than 1,500 organizations attends each year, from system designers and architects, logic and circuit designers, validation engineers, CAD managers, senior managers and executives to researchers and academicians from leading universities. Close to 60 technical sessions selected by a committee of electronic design experts offer information on recent developments and trends, management practices and new products, methodologies and technologies. A highlight of DAC is its Exhibition and Suite area with approximately 200 of the leading and emerging EDA, silicon, IP and design services providers. The conference is sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Design Automation (ACM/SIGDA), the Circuits and Systems Society and Council on Electronic Design Automation of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE/CASS/CEDA) and the Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDA Consortium).
