HigherGround Launches Next Generation of Public Safety Recording & Dispatcher Evaluation Solutions

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 11, 2010 — HigherGround, Inc., a software developer of digital voice recording, quality assurance, and reporting tools for public safety communication centers, announced the release of their new NG9-1-1 solutions today at the 10th Annual HigherGround International Sales Meeting being held at the Indian Wells Resort.

Citizens are now starting to use a wide range of communication devices to contact public safety answering points (PSAPs) with emergency 9-1-1 calls and notifications including a variety of voice interactions (telephony, cell, radio, VoIP), video, text and email messages. The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) created the NENA Next Generation Partnership Program (NGPP) with “the ultimate goal of ensuring that everyone has access to emergency services, anytime, anywhere, from any device,” according to the www.nena.org website.

In addition to being a member of the NGPP, HigherGround also is an active participant in the NG 9-1-1 Industry Collaboration Events (NG9-1-1 ICE), a venue for interoperability testing between vendors in the public safety arena.

“Capturing and logging telephone interactions has always been a function of public safety operations. With advances in mission critical technology there are enhanced interoperability expectations and expanded standards on the horizon,” said Terry Ryan, President and CEO of HigherGround. “We are proud to release a feature-rich audio and data recording solution on our NextGeneration Platform to meet existing and future requirements of emergency responder protocols.”

HigherGround’s new NextGen Capture911 software solution is designed using a modular approach and systems can range from the very basic to those that have the ability to collect and consolidate diverse multimedia data from disparate sources into a single platform. A new dashboard with an adjustable window framework allows dispatchers to customize layouts containing various categories of information. Collected data is integrated and presented in a chronological manner. NextGen Capture911 virtually re-creates an entire incident, including mapping of incidents utilizing GIS technology, and provides public safety and government agencies with increased efficiency in incident reconstruction and investigation analysis.

NextGen Quality911 is a dispatcher evaluation tool that maximizes service quality and assists with compliance adherence by evaluating call takers and dispatchers through form-based evaluations and customized scorecards. Supervisors can monitor live calls or recorded interactions and leverage best practice calls for training and coaching purposes.

Founded in 1973, HigherGround has provided mission critical recording applications to the public safety market for decades. The original Capture911 and Quality911 applications have been installed in more than 1,000 PSAPs and government agencies. In addition, HigherGround’s Instant Retrieval module (IRR) is a proven industry standard for call recording and is used as an OEM product in consoles produced by several industry leaders including SolaCom and Plant/CML – an EADS North America Company.
