hyperMILL® certified by Autodesk Complete integration in the new Autodesk Inventor 2011 release

Wessling, Germany, 28 July 2010 – hyperMILL®, the CAM solution from OPEN MIND Technologies AG, is certified by Autodesk for its Autodesk Inventor 2011 mechanical design and engineering software. The market leader in 2D and 3D design, engineering and entertainment software has confirmed that hyperMILL® is integrated seamlessly in the new version of the Digital Prototyping suite.

Autodesk Inventor software takes engineers beyond 3D to Digital Prototyping by enabling them to design, visualize, and simulate products before they are built. By certifying hyperMILL® for the Autodesk Inventor 2011 software suite, the 2D and 3D design software developer attests to the CAM tool’s seamless integration, data associativity and quality. Above all, hyperMILL® offers users a continuous workflow fully accessible from the familiar user interface of Autodesk Inventor 2011.

“Autodesk Inventor certification confirms complete integration and interoperability of a product. Integration offers users streamlined processes and greater transparency and precision throughout all manufacturing steps, as well as the highest possible accuracy,” said Tim Gray, director of Inventor product management at Autodesk.

More efficiency thanks to shared database

By providing complete associativity with Autodesk design data, hyperMILL® can automatically update all CAM operations whenever the CAD model changes. Embedded in the CAD user interface, hyperMILL® increases speed and efficiency as a common database is accessed. Additionally, errors are avoided and the overall workload for users is reduced.

CAM flexibility in the familiar CAD environment

hyperMILL® offers Autodesk Inventor users the greatest possible flexibility for drawing on CAM functions in the familiar CAD environment. Specifically adapted to the user interface of Autodesk Inventor, this integration combines the wide array of machining strategies and optimisation functions offered by hyperMILL®, facilitating flexible, efficient CAM programming in continuous processes.
