November 15, 2011 -- 1Spatial is delighted to announce that Symology Ltd, a leading developer and supplier of integrated asset management solutions, has purchased Radius Studio for use in a new project with the purpose of improving access to and sharing of information on underground assets.
The Scottish Community Apparatus Data Vault (VAULT) is a major new development, which will make underground apparatus information accessible to registered users of Road Authorities and Statutory Undertakers via the Scottish Road Works Register (SRWR). The aim of the service is to allow timely access to information about all underground assets from a single centralised location, both to improve work planning and more importantly to ensure the safety of the operatives working on the roads.
As the current SRWR service provider, Symology worked with the Scottish Community on a number of successful regional trial asset integration projects which made use of Radius Studio technology. The company has now adopted 1Spatial’s Radius Studio platform to automate the transformation and conflation of incoming data from multiple organisations contributing to the VAULT.

Full implementation of VAULT is planned for early 2012 with a new portal being developed for the submission and review of asset data. It will allow users to view buried asset data alongside the existing SRWR map data in addition to other functionality, including secure access control and audit trails of what was accessed when and by whom.
