Creative Competition will bring twenty-four young creatives from all over the world to New York for a weeklong creative challenge

NEW YORK – May 7, 2013 – The Art Directors Club announced today the launch of Portfolio Night All-Stars. The program will select one young creative from each Portfolio Night event and bring them to New York for the competition in August 2013.

Portfolio Night is the foundation that Portfolio Night All-Stars is built upon. Portfolio Night will take place in twenty-four cities all over the world: Athens, Austin, Beijing, Boston, Budapest, Chicago, San Jose, Dallas, Detroit, Johannesburg, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Montreal, Mumbai, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Singapore, Stockholm, Tokyo and Toronto. Thousands of young creatives will meet with hundreds of the world’s top creative directors. One person from each location will be named the All-Star and invited to compete in the Portfolio Night All-Stars competition.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the new venture,” said Brendan Watson, Director of Education for Art Directors Club and one of the creators of Portfolio Night. “For over a decade now Portfolio Night has impacted the careers of young creatives all over the world, but this initiative will really amplify that.”

The All-Stars will be flown to New York City in August 2013. The competition will kick-off on August 5 with an opening ceremony at the Art Directors Club 29th Street Gallery. The All-Stars will be joined by members of the press, sponsors including Adobe and members of the ADC community. A short opening ceremony will include a welcome message from Ignacio Oreamuno, the Executive Director of the Art Directors Club, followed by an overview of the creative brief.

After the presentation of the creative brief, the All-Stars will have the remainder of the week to work on the assignment and prepare for the corresponding creative presentation. Morning progress checks will be paired with mentor sessions headed up by prominent members of the ADC creative community.

The All-Stars will be present their creative concepts on Friday afternoon. The ADC Gallery will be arranged in a theater setting with full A/V capabilities. Each team will present their work in a polished digital presentation to a panel of representatives from the lead sponsor and the Art Directors Club Portfolio Night Global Team. Each presentation will be limited to ten minutes, followed by a five-minute Q&A. Upon completion; the panel will be sequestered to deliberate the creative presentations and ultimately decide the winner.
