The public launch is coming off the heels of 2 major projects successes; mostly recently it was used by client Atomic Fiction to render over 100 complex visual effects shots for Paramount Pictures' Star Trek Into Darkness, while in March ZYNC was used by Neither-Field's Scott Pagano to render over 15 minutes of large format 3D imagery under tight deadlines for the 2013 Game Developers Conference Concert in San Francisco headlined by Skrillex.
Key to this platform migration to the cloud, ZYNC has established partnerships with many of the top visual effects software vendors and are supporting rendering from The Foundry's NUKE, Chaos Group's VRay and Mental Ray from NVIDIA. "The Foundry is excited to partner with ZYNC as they break new ground in cloud rendering for the VFX industry," stated Simon Robinson, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder at The Foundry. "We have a commitment to providing our customers with solid tools that enhance their pipeline and believe that making ZYNC's innovative technology easily accessible to NUKE users will prove very valuable."
ZYNC CEO Brian Drewes comments, "Our commercial launch and the incredible rendering power now available to all users is what we envisioned when ZYNC was originally developed as an in house tool. With the ongoing changes in the visual effects industry, the ability to render-on-demand without the massive upfront capital investment that a local renderfarm requires provides a much more flexible solution for today's global, distributed workforce."
