SiMICS Adopts Silvaco's Analog, Mixed-Signal Design Flow

YOKOHAMA, JAPAN -- (Marketwired) -- Oct 02, 2013 -- Silvaco Japan Co., Ltd. (Silvaco) has announced that SiMICS, Co., Ltd. (SiMICS) has adopted Silvaco's EDA design flow as its analog, mixed-signal design environment.

SiMICS, a fabless company, started its semiconductor technology-based business in 2012. Their experienced engineers have an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, and collaborate with their partner companies in Japan to provide valuable products to customers.

SiMICS evaluated EDA tools at the startup of their business and decided to adopt Silvaco's Analog, Mixed-Signal Design Flow. Immediately after the adoption, SiMICS has started the operation and has already completed the tape-out of their products.

Silvaco's Analog and Mixed-Signal Design Flow, with its unique EDA Token License system and Silvaco PDKs, which are increasingly being adopted by foundries in Japan and other countries, provide an attractive design environment at reasonable cost with high reliability that appeals to startup companies.

Takashi Abe, Director of IC Division of SiMICS said, "The development speed and the reliability of the products are very important for our semiconductor technology-based company. The main reasons for selecting this EDA vendor were the excellent technical support and the PDK support for Japanese foundries, as well as the initial cost of the system. Adoption of Silvaco's Design Flow now provides solutions for many problems and allows us to concentrate on the improvement of the value of our products."

"We are very pleased with the adoption of the Silvaco Design Flow by SiMICS," said Yoshiharu Furui, General Manager of Silvaco Japan. "We are confident that the combination of our outstanding tools and SiMICS's extensive experience and knowledge of the process, mass production, quality control, and semiconductor design technology will ensure their continued success. We pride ourselves on our outstanding support and look forward to enhancing our ongoing partnership."
