SAN DIEGO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 20, 2014DR Systems, a leading provider of Enterprise Imaging Solutions and KLAS #1 PACS, will be exhibiting new capabilities designed to increase the quality and efficiency of patient services at HIMSS 2014. Also on display will be Health Companion, an enterprise patient portal for secure messaging and patient engagement.

eMix, DR Systems' cloud-based solution for image sharing and report delivery, will be demonstrating its new Instant Sender platform at HIMSS. Instant Sender allows any patient, doctor, or facility to quickly and confidentially deliver medical imaging exams, reports, and other medical information to any recipient. No setup, registration, or contract is required. The recipient can view images and information using a zero-download viewer, or route to a PACS. The solution is available at www.eMix.com.

“eMix Instant Sender is a game-changer for healthcare. Every radiologist receives requests to review medical images from friends, neighbors, family members, lawyers, and potentially, patients seeking second opinions. Now, there is one simple answer, 'Just eMix it to me'. With eMix Instant Sender, any radiologist can quickly and easily receive and review exams without the need to install a viewer or even an Active-X control—all using DR Systems’ specially adapted zero-download viewer,” said Murray A. Reicher, MD, FACR, Chairman of DR Systems.

Also on exhibit will be DR Systems’ 2011/2012 ONC-HIT certified complete ambulatory EHR Technology (CEHRT) for meaningful use. DR Systems’ eHR for Meaningful Use provides a simple cloud-based and vendor-neutral solution for eligible professionals to comply with the meaningful use objectives established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). DR Systems’ eHR and its partner Health Companion® PHR provides a unique patient engagement tool that can be used to both pre-register patients and securely deliver reports via the web.

DR systems has partnered with Health Companion, a 2014 ONC-HIT certified EMR for secure patient messaging and patient engagement. Health Companion provides a unique enterprise patient portal that enables healthcare organizations to standardize on a single patient engagement platform across multiple EMRs, to improve operational efficiencies. Health Companion President Kevin Whiteley stated, “We provide significant value to providers and health care organizations with a real-time compiled report to population health and wellness compliance, secure patient messaging, web-based pre-registration, and delivery of medical reports, including secure medical imaging results. DR Systems will be exhibiting its Unity RIS, currently the leader in the KLAS 2013 trend report for large facilities – along with the full complement of modular Unity CVIS, PACS, and reporting options. A multi-site practice can employ a single unified RIS worklist to launch and drive one or more PACS. It is also possible to launch the RIS/Reporting system from a third-party PACS.
