By using RuleDesigner, El-Bo Produktion automates the customization of its products by modelling configuration processes that, driving the Siemens NX CAD Software, generate product-related CAD geometries.
Cesena, Italy – May 23, 2014 -- Engineering PLM Solutions today announced that the Danish company El-Bo Produktion A/S chooses RuleDesigner Configurator to realize product configuration process for design automation within the NX environment.
The Trasportation division of El-Bo Produktion manufactures on commission insulated composite sandwich panels to thermally insulate vehicle structures used for different applications, including refrigerated track bodies, trailers, campers and caravans.
As sandwich panels can be configured both in size and materials, the product was highly suitable to be configured and customized in RuleDesigner Configurator system, matching the exact requirements of each customer.
After a careful evaluation of configurators available on the market, the company choose RuleDesigner Configurator because it is a reliable and performing configuration tool, the unique granting high-level interaction with NX, the 3D CAD system.
Also, the evaluation team was impressed by the user-friendly interaction approach of the module aimed at modelling and updating rule-based processes which allows designers owning the product know-how to directly use it.
The configuration process drives the users in entering the information needed to configure the customer’s desired product, such as panels dimensions, scope, composite materials needed, type of coating, performance and endurance. Once the product configuration is completed, starting from a basic geometry, the system creates the technical drawing of the customized product and generates the sales offers. Sales offers will be then sent and notified to the appointed salesman and archived in the ERP Visma.
