Cloud Publishing Storm Breaks Over Chicago: Silicon One Features Revealed

CHICAGO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 29, 2014 — Today at Graph Expo ‘14 in Chicago, Silicon Publishing demonstrated a new cloud publishing solution, called Silicon One. The multi-channel publishing application takes a novel approach, extending and streamlining the firm’s flagship Silicon Designer, a product introduced five years ago at Print ‘09.

“We have come a long way with our online editing solutions these past five years…” said Silicon Publishing’s COO Aaron Hodges. “And we have found that there are two very different use cases. We intend to cover all the bases, and if the other ‘new’ technologies present at Graph Expo 2014 are any indication, the Silicon One/Silicon Designer solutions eclipse all alternative solutions for online editing or variable data composition, with more power at a fraction of the cost.”

Data-driven InDesign Output

While Silicon Designer provides direct on-canvas editing by meticulously mapping the InDesign object model to HTML5, Silicon One takes a more closely integrated approach, staying entirely within the InDesign rendition engine. Despite its relative simplicity and affordability, Silicon One offers a robust feature set:

Document Setup with Adobe InDesign

Comprehensive Administration

Runtime functionality

Page Composition

“I am confident that Silicon One will find its place as the standard for cloud editing and publishing with templates, variable data and the highest-quality image rendition for print and web.”
