Vicor Corporation's ChiP Technology and PowerBench Whiteboard Design Tool Named Finalists for 2014 Elektra Awards

ANDOVER, MA -- (Marketwired) -- Sep 29, 2014 -- Vicor Corporation (NASDAQ: VICR) today announced that its ChiP high voltage bus converter module (BCM®) and PowerBench™ Whiteboard design tool have been named finalists for the 2014 Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards. Elektra Award finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges, recognizing the achievements of innovative companies and individuals across the electronics industry.

Vicor's ChiP (Converter housed in Package) high voltage BCM has been chosen as a finalist in the Power System Product of the Year category, comprised of power components that demonstrate how new materials, semiconductor technologies and packaging design have been applied for the development of power efficient systems. ChiP-based power components can be utilized for a wide range of applications requiring high power density, high efficiency, and improved design flexibility.

Within the Design Tools and Development Software Award category, Vicor's online PowerBench Whiteboard design tool was named among finalists that demonstrate technical capabilities that are changing the way designers approach hardware projects. The PowerBench Whiteboard tool enables users to architect end-to-end power chain block diagrams and dynamically analyze system attributes including efficiency and power loss.

Vicor's ChiP-based power components and PowerBench Whiteboard tool underpin a power component design methodology that gives designers the ability to architect complete power systems from source to point-of-load quickly and predictably using proven modular solutions.

Elektra Award winners will be announced November 26 at a gala ceremony in London. For more information about the Elektra Awards, visit http://www.elektraawards.co.uk/
