Radan Latest Release On Show At Fabtech

Vero Software will be exhibiting its Radan brand at Fabtech 2014.

Oct 22, 2014 -- With over 27,000 visitors expected at the three day show from November 11 to 13, at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress, it is the perfect showcase for the new and enhanced functionality in the latest release.

Visitors to booth #B39 will see demonstrations of some of the 180 enhancements in Radan 2015, including how imported 3D files retain accurate information, resolving manufacturing issues throughout the production process, right down to the press brake.

Strengthened 3D translation procedures import information more consistently. The routines automatically calculating the thickness of imported parts have also been redesigned, giving faster and more accurate results. Automatic face selection now applies to unfolding, and there is a simple way to manually specify the top face much earlier in the process. This is particularly important for Radbend, so the visible face of a part remains scratch-free.

A number of important machine automation functions include significant enhancements to part removal. The amount of validation each Pick instruction requires has been increased – key suckers can be defined on the picker, and data introduced to the machine definition file, defining key suckers that must be turned on and be over the metal when picking.

Nesting enhancements include rectangular nesting automatically being applied where appropriate for near-rectangular parts, in the true-shape option. And Radan now creates a more compact nest than before, including compensating for centrifugal placement – the technique of placing parts as far removed as possible from the centre of the sheet, which potentially leaves a large gap in the middle of the sheet. But the compacting functionality offers more off cut areas, and is used on all nests.

Radbend settings can now be changed early in the process, giving the user more control, including changing finger stops and transferring tool settings from one press brake to another, onscreen. It has also been strengthened in its control of the hemming process, by specifying the central face as being either above or below.
