Blue Mind at the ROM: Exploring the Art and Science Behind Your Brain on Water

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- Nov 25, 2014 -- This Nov. 26th, Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, the author of Blue Mind, joins Environmental Visual Communication (EVC) and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) Biodiversity to present: Blue Mind at the ROM, a FREE public event exploring your personal connection with water. From 6-9 pm at the ROM, programming will include keynote speaker Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, additional speakers, water inspired video portraits, photography exhibit, interactive floor projections, and the unique opportunity to (re)connect with your brain on water.

"Through artful collaboration, engaging summits, and interdisciplanary research Blue Mind is influencing the way we think about water and ourselves."- Dr. Nichols, author, Blue Mind

Blue Mind at the ROM is a unique event inviting guests to explore their personal connection with water, expanding their appreciation of water, and nurturing their own potential by protecting water's potential. EVC students share their own vision of Blue Mind through a photography exhibit, and series of video portraits, while Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, marine biologist and author of Blue Mind, shares the research and inspiration behind his new book. Blue Mind connects the dots: neuroscience and psychology, nature and conservation, art and science, poetry and practice in profoundly important new ways. The result is an emerging, exciting, fast-growing new field called neuroconservation.

"... biologist and researcher Nichols shares the many ways in which water positively impacts not just our lives, but also our minds." -Publishers Weekly

Blue Mind at the ROM follows after a series of speaking events by Dr. Nichols throughout the US. His upcoming 2015 Blue Mind summit will be held June 15-17. ( wallacejnichols.org)
