iDreamSky Announces GDC Session Led by President Jeff Lyndon on Future Developments of the China Mobile Game Industry

SHENZHEN, China — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 17, 2015 — iDreamSky Technology Limited (Nasdaq: DSKY), China's largest independent mobile game publishing platform, today announced its participation in the Game Developers Conference (GDC) to be held March 2–6, 2015 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. iDreamSky co-founder and President Jeff Lyndon will lead a dedicated session titled “The Future Development of China’s Mobile Game Industry” focused on the challenges and opportunities within this rapidly growing market. Conference attendees are invited to join this informative session held on Wednesday, March 4 at 9:30 a.m. in Moscone Center’s West Hall, Room 2014.

The fragmentation of the growing global mobile game market challenges game developers with the enormous task of attracting more and more users. This is especially difficult in a market like China, where both the user behavior and the distribution ecosystem are disjointed. In this dedicated GDC session, Lyndon will share his views on the future development of the Chinese mobile game industry, and what the industry can collectively do to make game distribution in China more attractive for both developers and publishers. Methods Lyndon will discuss include the "elaborate works" strategy, magnifying the value of IP, paying closer attention to fractionalized domains and more.

Lyndon brings over 14 years of experience in game development and publishing to iDreamSky. His first game was Shadowbane, one of the first few early 3D MMORPGs launched into the market back in 2001. Since Lyndon joined iDreamSky, the company has successfully transformed from being a smartphone application-outsourcing studio to becoming one of the most successful mobile game publishers in China, and recently IPO’d on the Nasdaq in 2014. Through his leadership, iDreamSky has effectively secured partnerships with the world's top game developers, including Halfbrick, Imangi, Devsisters, Miniclip, Namco Bandai, Ubisoft, Kikoo, Smilegate, Wemade and many more. He is also a 30 under 30 Developer award recipient from DEVELOP magazine, and one of the charter members and Co-President of the international relationship of GMGDC (Global Mobile Game Developer Confederation).
