SEARCHING FOR SUGAR MAN kicks off the month's roster of acclaimed documentaries on Sunday, May 3, at 7 p.m. ET, detailing the journey of two South African filmmakers searching for Detroit singer/songwriter Sixto Rodriguez. As part of SMC's Music Movie Month, the network will feature a music-themed two-pack every Tuesday, leading off with a new documentary each week at 10 p.m. ET. The lineup includes the premiere of PAUL WILLIAMS: STILL ALIVE (May 19), examining the legacy and influence of songwriter and ubiquitous '70s personality Paul Williams; the celebrated documentary IT MIGHT GET LOUD (May 12), featuring iconic guitarists Jimmy Page, Jack White and The Edge (U2); and GRATEFUL DAWG (May 4), an intimate look at the bond between musician David Grisman and Grateful Dead legend Jerry Garcia, packed with behind-the-scenes moments, home jam sessions, and personal conversations.

The month of music also includes a roster of in-depth concert films, giving viewers a front row seat as some of music's biggest names take the stage. The lineup kicks off on Monday, May 4, with rock n' roll power couple Paul and Linda McCartney in WINGS OVER THE WORLD; Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino and more in the raucous '50s rock celebration LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL; and James Brown, Sister Sledge, Celia Cruz and B.B. King in SOUL POWER. Then, on Thursday, May 14, experience the sights and sounds of late-'60s London in ROCK CITY, a rarely seen rock doc featuring sets from Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding, the Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd.

Then, SMC pays tribute to The Who's 1975 rock n' roll extravaganza TOMMY, with a 40th Anniversary presentation on Wednesday, May 6, at 8 p.m. ET. The classic rock opera stars The Who frontman Roger Daltrey as Tommy, a deaf, dumb, and blind wunderkind on a twisting odyssey of music, drugs, religion, and pinball. Ann-Margret and Oliver Reed lead a star-studded cast that also boasts appearances from Elton John, Jack Nicholson, Tina Turner, Keith Moon and Eric Clapton.

And SMC brings the stories of some of music's most influential stars to life with classic biopics featuring Gary Busey as rock n' roll pioneer Buddy Holly in THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, and Lou Diamond Phillips as influential Latin rock star Ritchie Valens in LA BAMBA (May 1); THE BEACH BOYS: AN AMERICAN FAMILY, starring Kevin Dunn (May 2); Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Elizabeth Mitchell in THE LINDA MCCARTNEY STORY; and Kristin Stewart and Dakota Fanning in the femme-rock epic THE RUNAWAYS (May 14).
