OpenDXM GlobalX now with security certificate

Darmstadt, June 2015– Darmstadt-based PROSTEP AG announces that the current version 8.1 of its data exchange platform OpenDXM GlobalX has successfully completed penetration testing performed by the renowned security experts at ERNW. Within the framework of the testing, a reference installation was used to assess how well the data is protected within the application and against possible threats from outside in the form of hacker attacks such as, for example, so-called "brute force attacks". The experts at ERNW's pentest and research lab were unable to detect any security gaps or vulnerabilities in the software. The issuing of the security certificate indicates that the design and architecture of the tested version have been developed and implemented with a view to providing the highest possible level of security.

PROSTEP regularly subjects all the major releases of its software applications to this type of security testing. Larger customers from the automotive and aerospace industries in particular place great importance on such testing. The security and protection offered by the application is particularly critical to OpenDXM GlobalX users since large amounts of sensitive engineering data are normally exchanged between OEMs and suppliers via the web-based platform. "ERNW's seal of approval provides our customers with a guarantee that the software satisfies the security requirements of their IT departments as best possible and that the data exchanged via OpenDXM GlobalX is protected at all times against unauthorized access," stresses Udo Hering, head of product management at PROSTEP AG.
