Wix.com Returns to Super Bowl 50

TEL AVIV, Israel, Dec. 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The leading web development platform Wix.com (Nasdaq:WIX) announced today that following the success of its 2015 Super Bowl campaign, it will return to Big Game marketing by airing a new spot during the CBS broadcast of Super Bowl 50. For its second Super Bowl appearance the company has decided to forgo the traditional client-agency route and has chosen DreamWorks Animation as the creative promotional partner for the campaign.

Wix’s internal creative team will work directly with DreamWorks Animation -- the studio behind global animated blockbusters Madagascar, The Croods, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon and many more -- to develop and produce the Super Bowl spot and all other campaign creatives. The company’s 30-second spot will tie directly into Wix’s mission to provide small businesses with powerful and easy to use software platform to design, manage and grow a stunning online presence. In addition to the Super Bowl commercial, the company will be launching a cross-platform campaign with made-for-web content, spots for exclusive online distribution and social media activations.

“Last year, we were Super Bowl newcomers, and in addition to the 114.5 million people who watched our ad during the game, over 300 million people worldwide engaged with our campaign online. Deciding to come back was a no brainer, but for the creative direction we wanted to take a fresh approach. Pairing with DreamWorks Animation allows us do just that while getting our message across,” said Omer Shai Wix CMO. “Most people know that having an online presence for your business is a must, but what they don’t necessarily know is that with the right platform, the results will be stunning and the process will be fun.”

Serving over 75 million users worldwide, Wix is a leader in its space offering a powerful website building and hosting platform, eCommerce tools, email marketing solutions and a variety of software solutions tailored for specific business verticals. By returning to the Super Bowl stage for the second consecutive year, the company plans to further solidify its brand and become a household name.
