BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. Releases 11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD from Aardman Studios and DigixArt

Two Mastercraft Studios Collaborate for Narrative-Driven World War I Centenary Experience

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — November 9, 2018 — BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. announces that it has released 11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD™ digitally for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, and PC via STEAM® in the Americas. This collaboration between animation studio Aardman Studios and game developer DigixArt have created an emotionally riveting story-driven narrative adventure with a breathtaking painted art style aesthetic to deliver a wholly unique experience.

Players will maneuver Harry (voiced by multi award winning actor Elijah Wood), a young Canadian photographer who has joined the European Front Line searching for adventure, and Kurt (voiced by international Emmy Award nominated actor Sebastian Koch), a German engineer who has just learned his son has gone missing while at war. Although they pursue different paths, their fates will be intertwined as the world quickly approaches the end of The Great War on November 11,1918.

The creative masterminds at Aardman Studios, creators of Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run, and other beloved animated films, have developed a beautiful painted art style that depicts the broken beauty and devastation of war-torn Europe. This is coupled with DigixArt’s expertise in crafting heartfelt narrative gaming experiences to create a uniquely emotional gaming experience.

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. has also partnered with War Child for a special charity DLC (downloadable content) for 11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD. Through a series of moving letters, drawings, and photographs, the War Child charity DLC tells the gripping story of Jack and Eva, two naïve and innocent children drawn into the dramatic events of World War I. BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. will remit proceeds it receives from this unique DLC to the War Child charity.

"This is a very special game for a very special moment. Players will face choices, some with small consequences and some with big. This is a game about life during war, both on the battlefield and beyond,” said Yoan Fanise, Creative Director of 11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD, DigixArt.

“Creating compelling stories and evoking emotions, ultimately to affect people, is at the heart of everything we do at Aardman,” said Daniel Efergan, Creative Director of Digital at Aardman Animations. “Put simply, 11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD is a story about two ordinary people – not unlike thousands of others from 100 years ago – thrown into an extraordinary situation.”

“First, I’d like to say Thank You to our veterans. The release of 11-11: MEMORIES RETOLD coincides with the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, and we set out to deliver an emotionally resonant story about the harsh realities of war, anchored by a grimly beautiful artistic style as impactful as the narrative itself,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “Through our partnership with Aardman Studios, DigixArt, and War Child, we’re confident that we’ve created a game that will accomplish that and more, touching the hearts and minds of players like no title has before.”
