PCI Geomatics to showcase Analysis Ready Data tools and Open Data Cube at ESA Living Planet Symposium

MARKHAM, Ontario, Canada, May 13, 2019 - PCI Geomatics, a world-leading developer of remote-sensing and photogrammetric software and systems, announced today it will be participating in the European Space Agency Living Planet Symposium May 14-17, 2019 in Milan, Italy.

PCI, together with key collaborators, will make several presentations on processing hypertemporal archives to derive useful information for time-series analysis.

The presentations are as follows:

Deployment of operational methods to support emergency geomatics decision making by leveraging deep temporal stacks of multi-sensor imagery: a case study in the major flood prone rivers of Canada
Dr. Ian Olthof (presented by Wolfgang Lück)
May 15, 16:40, Amber 7+8 - Floor 2

Big geospatial data analysis for the estimation of emissions due to conversion of cropland to settlement: a case study in the census metropolitan areas of Canada
Cameron Samson (presented by Wolfgang Lück)
May 15, 17:20, Area C - Board 322

Creation of a very-high-resolution digital surface model of the Kruger National Park from CDNGI aerial imagery using PCI GXL
K. Heckel
May 17,12:20, Area A - Board 53

Assessing error budgets for different processing levels of ARD
Wolfgang Lück
May 17, 14:45, Amber 7+8 - Floor 2

These projects validate the new technology that PCI Geomatics is developing to process multisensor data and create Analysis Ready Data (ARD) products. By leveraging the deep temporal archives of commercial satellites, such as Landsat and others with high resolution, various spectral bands, and SAR-acquisition modes, the technology can normalize and geometrically align the imagery. Simultaneously, the imagery can be uploaded to a suitable multitemporal analysis environment, such as the Open Data Cube (ODC), at which point additional insight can be gained.
