Digital Construction Week 2021 call for speakers now open

The team behind Digital Construction Week – Europe's leading innovation and technology event for the built environment – are looking for speakers to join the line up at the 2021 show.

Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations (AECO) and Built Environment industry professionals are invited to apply for their chance to share their knowledge and expertise at the show, which takes place at ExCeL London on 24-25 November.

Event director Ollie Hughes says: “While most of the world has shut down during the pandemic, construction has continued to work. The industry has faced new challenges and adopted new ways of working – a lot has changed. Now as we move into the era of the ‘new normal’, it’s more important than ever that we come together as a sector and share best practice.

“The 2021 edition of Digital Construction Week will be a vital platform for the industry to tell their stories, to talk about their journeys during the last year and to unite the sector to drive positive change. Our call for speakers is your chance to share what you’ve learned, inspire others and contribute to building an industry that’s even stronger than before.”

The event is expected to attract around 6,000 visitors from across the industry, offering speakers the chance to get in front of an engaged and ready-to-learn audience looking to shape the future of the built environment.

The two-day programme features over 120 hours of free-to-attend sessions. The show's nine theatres focus on some of the key trends shaping digital construction including BIM, Geospatial, Business Transformation, Industry 4.0. and more. New for 2021 is the People & Change Theatre which will focus on the people side of digital transformation, with sessions looking at behavioural change and engagement throughout the built environment.

The organisers are calling for submissions that feature case studies, research projects, debates, workshops, live demos, how-to guides, examples of best practice, new technologies and new ideas.

Ollie Hughes continues: “We’ll be looking out for something that hasn’t been heard before, that offers new insights and encourages debate. More than anything we want to show our audience something truly engaging, something different, that will genuinely help educate and inform them. Our goal is to inspire and help drive the industry forward and our speaker programme is key to that.

“We’re also encouraging new and diverse voices who haven’t presented before to step forward. Digital Construction Week is all about sharing ideas, hearing from different people and growing the community – so if you haven’t presented before, that’s all the more reason we want you to apply.

“Even if you’re just starting out in the industry, but you’ve got insights that could help others in the same position, then we want to hear from you.”
