Critical Response Group and RapidSOS Expand the Ability to Share Site-Specific Mapping Data

Phase 2 integration with RapidSOS Portal gives telecommunicators access to site-specific common operating pictures

EWING, N.J., March 8, 2022 — (PRNewswire) —

EWING, N.J., March 8, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Critical Response Group, Inc. today announced the launch of its Phase 2 integration with RapidSOS Portal, a situational data portal for Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs). The integration provides ECCs with the ability to instantly access site-specific common operating pictures, known as a Collaborative Response Graphic® (CRG®), as well as plot and track the caller's movements on the CRGs, a first of its kind feature within RapidSOS Portal.

Historically, ECC telecommunicators are forced to rely on the limited information a 911 caller can provide, often resulting in dispatching delays and first responders arriving on scene under-informed. Obtaining key information such as the location of a caller or an injured person, the location of a crime suspect or knowing specifically where to send resources are significant challenges without the benefit of accurate on-site intelligence.

CRGs® enhance situational awareness and prepare first responders for when they respond to unfamiliar buildings and campuses. CRGs® are standardized, site-specific, and geo-rectified common operating pictures that combine facility floor plans, high-resolution imagery, accurate labeling of key features and a gridded overlay together into one map. CRGs were born from lessons learned by U.S. Special Operation Forces (USSOF) and have been successfully transitioned for use by domestic public safety professionals. Thousands of CRGs have been deployed and are in the hands of first responders across the U.S. The power of a CRG is its open-ended nature that allows them to be ingested into existing security systems.

With the completion of Phase 2, ECCs that utilize RapidSOS Portal Jurisdiction View will have unparalleled visibility into the location of a 911 call when that site also has CRGs on file. With this integration, RapidSOS Portal Jurisdiction View may plot the location of a relevant 911 call on aerial imagery, and dispatchers will be alerted when a site is equipped with CRGs. The caller's location will be overlaid onto a detailed interior CRG with the ability to track the caller's movements. CRGs are created for each floor, as well as a macro view of the exterior to enable clear communication both inside and outside a building.

"With CRG's Phase 2 integration in RapidSOS Portal, we're supporting our heroic first responders with enhanced visibility and situational awareness into emergencies, while offering communities an additional layer of safety and security," said Jessica Reed, Vice President of Strategy and Global Partners at RapidSOS.

"We are excited to complete this phase of integration with RapidSOS," said Mike Rodgers, CEO at CRG. "The combined power of RapidSOS Portal Jurisdiction View and CRGs places ECCs in the best possible position to quickly communicate essential information to first responders that will help them save lives."

The RapidSOS and CRG Phase 2 solution is available to Emergency Communication Centers with access to RapidSOS Portal on March 8th, 2022. To learn more about how your ECC can leverage this solution, visit: https://www.crgplans.com/.
