Maxar European Space Imaging: Ukraine Russian Imagery update 19 March – 03 April 2022

Recent very high resolution satellite imagery collected by European Space Imaging and its partner
Maxar reveals the existence of a mass grave site on the northwestern edge of Manhush, Ukraine (located
approximately 20 kilometers west of Mariupol) and adjacent to an existing village cemetery. According to
recent media reports, Russian soldiers have been taking the bodies of people killed in Mariupol to this
location. A review of our satellite images from mid-March through mid-April indicate that the expansion of
the new set of graves began between March 23-26, 2022 and has continued to expand over the past couple
of weeks. The graves are aligned in four sections of linear rows (measuring approximately 85 meters per
section) and contain more than 200 new graves. The gallery of images provides a closer look at the
cemetery and the new graves as they have been prepared over the past month.
