Programme revealed for the Main Stage at GEO Business 2024 

GEO Business has just announced the Main Stage line-up in the lead up to the tenth anniversary edition of the show, which returns to ExCeL London from 5-6 June.  

Home to unmissable content delivered by high profile thought leaders working at the forefront of geospatial, the Main Stage at GEO Business will feature an exclusive programme of noteworthy speakers, interactive sessions, and panel discussions.

Keep reading to discover a taster of the speakers stepping on the Main Stage at the event designed for geospatial professionals who want to unlock the power of location intelligence. 

Kicking off with a lively session, ‘ AI will make the role of the geospatial professional virtually redundant inside a generation – a debate!’ where panelists will discuss this bold statement. 

Join senior industry professionals who will robustly debate for and against whether AI will truly disrupt the future workforce. Audience participation will be fully encouraged. The session will be facilitated by Simon Navin, Director of Business Development at Dalcour Maclaren. 

Simon will be joined by Ed Parsons, Geospatial Technology Evangelist at Google; Hannah Thomas, Technical Director Geospatial at Jacobs; Nick Ruddell, Graduate Surveyor at Dalcour Maclaren; Denise McKenzie, Managing Partner at Place Trust; and Barry Gleeson, Technical Director at WSP. 

Can geospatial data save the world?’ This is what Donna Lyndsay, Strategic Market Lead for Environment & Sustainability at Ordnance Survey, will be answering in her session. Donna has been uncovering and testing how Ordnance Survey’s knowledge and capabilities can support some of the biggest challenges of our time – how can we have sustainable business and live sustainable lives on planet Earth? 

Aaron Addison, Executive Director at the World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC), will present a keynote address envisioning the future of geospatial technology in ‘ WGIC – Future of geospatial’.  

He will illuminate the potential of geospatial data across sectors such as urban planning and environmental conservation. He will also emphasise the pivotal role that artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing will play in revolutionising data analytics and visualisation, urging stakeholders to embrace innovation and collaboration to navigate the evolving landscape. 

Dr. Vanessa Lawrence, Director of Location International will moderate ‘ The importance of geospatial to decision-makers'. Focusing on the indispensable role of geospatial information in empowering decision-makers across diverse sectors. The panellists will explore real-world examples and practical insights, showcasing the impact of geospatial intelligence on strategic decision-making processes. The discussion emphasises the need for enhanced collaboration, innovation, and integration of geospatial data to address complex challenges effectively and drive positive societal outcomes.
