Sonic Foundry Event Services Surpasses 3,500th Webcast Milestone With Fiserv Webcast

MADISON, Wis., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiserv strengthens internal communications, engages globally dispersed workforce by mediasiting virtual meetings

MADISON, Wis., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, today announced that its Event Services group has recorded more than 3,500 webcasts using Mediasite. The milestone was reached during a recent event for Fiserv, Inc., a Brookfield-based leading provider of information technology solutions to the financial industry which contracts for Sonic Foundry Event Services several times a year to webcast messages to its 24,000 globally-dispersed employees.

"Webcasting has been a great tool for us to reach our employees and we're happy that our event was recognized as Sonic Foundry Event Services' 3,500th webcast," said Joel Selstrom, Fiserv Human Resources. "As we continue to grow, the employees - whether they're here in Wisconsin at the headquarters or at one of our 200 offices across the country - appreciate the virtual interaction and flexibility the webcast provides. They feel more informed and closer to the executive leadership."

Fiserv executives, including the CEO and Executive Vice President of Human Resources, use webcasting to present the company's goals, priorities and progress on key initiatives to employees around the world. In addition to webcasting town hall type meetings, the on-demand content is often repurposed for client presentations and employee training.

"When working with the Sonic Foundry Event Services team I don't have to worry about the logistics of the webcast. I explain what we want, give them a place to set up, someone from our IT department, an open port, and I'm done. Sonic Foundry takes a lot of the headache off of our shoulders," added Selstrom

Sonic Foundry's Event Services group consists of systems engineers and project managers with an extensive knowledge of audio/video production and webcasting. The group and its strategic partners supply technical webcasting services and expertise to organizations who seek to complement their conference or events with viewing over the web. Since its launch in January 2007, the Event Services group has provided live and on-demand webcasting for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations and university associations to sporting events and charitable organizations.

"We are thrilled with our ongoing relationship with Fiserv. They are a pioneer in corporate communication, using Event Services to bridge time and distance by webcasting their executive presentations to employees, partners and customers alike," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry. "We see momentum building as corporations turn to webcasting to strengthen communications while reducing travel costs. This phenomenon has led to unprecedented growth in the Event Services arm of our business, whose turnkey services not only deliver messages to virtual audiences, but also create an archive where content is enduring and accessible after the event."
