thanks for the input NewTet - many of my renderings are dark intentionally - I use various gel lights for effects in night scenes as this one is - - the girl pictured is sad and alone in the dark with only a striped gel light and a few linear point lights to highlight various objects in the scene. I am still experimenting with various lighting effects and do agree that lighting is what can make more …

As I was saying...Try exporting your work as an .obj file and open it in Bryce. Proper lighting is much easier to achieve there, especially if you select the black backdrop in the "sky" selection. Good luck and keep up he good work!

Don't be afraid to over-saturate the set with lights. As you go along arranging and tweaking the composition you can gradually eliminate unnecessary lights until you reach the desired level of illumination. I think that it's better to over-expose a set than to leave it without proper lighting. I try to crank up the illumination in my work and over-saturate the colors so I can later tone more …
