It's not enough to just change the map. The trouble is that Star's surfaces and V4's do not line up. So when you apply the new UVs, they end up taking textures from the wrong map (think of the back of the head, which on V4/5/6 is on the Torso, but for Star is part of the head).

You need to make a new figure so that the new surface assignments take effect.

Hi! I don't have Star so I can't check for sure if it works in this particular case, but with most other figures it was possible to simply load the OBJ with the new UV map as a new UV set in the Surfaces pane of the figure.

I have updated the readme with a PDF that will hopefully make the DAZ Studio process more clear

Ok... well... Revised Instructions (I'll update the README in a bit):

1. Load STAR
2. Export STAR, name it StarDAZ or StarV4 or something other than Star
3. Apply UVMaps
4. In Studio, select Window | Panes | Figure Setup
5. Right click in "Geometries", choose "Add geometry...", select the file
6. Select STAR, then choose "Copy from selected Figure"
7. more …

A couple more thoughts:

- Always do this sort of thing in an empty scene, with a freshly-started DAZ Studio

- Don't name your object "Star". Use "StarDAZ" or "StarV4" or something else.

I have studio 4.7

You have to have Star selected before you import the UV-updated object
Then immediately go Window | Panes | Figure Setup, the little window should open
Click on the dropdown menu in the upper-right corner, pick "Copy from Selected Figure..."
Click on the "Create..." button in the lower right corner
Close the Figure Setup window

There should now be more …
