Some of this I knew, I worked for Ford for 30 years. The reason it stayed in the fleet, is that it takes several years to build a new one.

Part 2 :-) This arrangement bean in 1941/42, went on to 1963 and "that Lincoln" stayed in service for some 13 traes more! I don't know if there other vehicles after that but anyway this is how good stories begin :-) My apologies for being a bore...
