Sheboygan, Wisconsin, November 21, 2011 – AeroMetric has been awarded the contract to provide the Antonio Borja Won Pat Guam International Airport with an electronic Airport Layout Plan (eALP) for a FAA airspace analysis of the entire airport property.
The airport, also known as Guam International, is located in Tamuning and Barrigada, in the U.S. territory of Guam. It is named after Guam’s first delegate to the United States House of Representatives.
Guam is the largest and southernmost of the
Mariana Islands and lies 3800 miles west of Hawaii. With over 220 airport mapping projects successfully completed using
FAA AC 150/5300-18B, AeroMetric brings extensive airport mapping experience to this assignment, which along with our prior international experience ensures that the team will solve the logistical challenges involved in acquiring imagery at this remote location.
AeroMetric’s deliverables will be used by
AECOM, the prime consultant on the project, to develop a FAA GIS database per the
FAA’s Airport Surveying GIS Program.
“AECOM is excited to continue our successful relationship with AeroMetric on these A-GIS/eALP projects. Our collective experience on similar projects throughout the U.S. will enable us to coordinate efficiently as we focus on creatively solving problems stemming from working in a remote location,” said, Andrew Scanlon, senior project manager with AECOM.
“AeroMetric’s experience in developing airport GIS data according to the exacting standards defined by the FAA and NGS has allowed us to consistently support our airport consultant clients, and ensure their success. Working with AECOM has generated the first FAA approved eALP data set and we look forward to supporting them again on this exciting project!” said Bob vander Meer, vice president with AeroMetric.
