About Dr. Michael Grieves
Dr. Michael Grieves is an acknowledged world-renown expert in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). He is the author of “Virtually Perfect: Driving Innovative and Lean Products through Product Lifecycle Management” (SCP, 2011) and, the seminal book on PLM, “Product Lifecycle Management: Driving the Next Generation of Lean Thinking” (McGraw-Hill, 2006).
Dr. Grieves has consulted with a number of international manufacturers, governmental organizations and information technology providers on PLM-related issues and has given speeches world wide at PLM, engineering, and manufacturing conferences. He has been a consultant to NASA since the mid 2000s.
Dr. Grieves has been a senior executive at both Fortune 1000 companies and entrepreneurial organizations during his career. He founded and took public a $100 million systems integration company. Dr. Grieves has substantial board experience, including serving on a subsidiary company of NTT Communications of Japan and currently serves as Audit Committee Chairman for a major Chinese steel producer.
Dr. Grieves has academic appointments at the University of Iowa, Florida Institute of Technology, and CIMBA, Italy. He has degrees from Michigan State University College of Engineering, Oakland University, and his doctorate is from Case Western Reserve
