Homes demonstrate design excellence is not limited by size or dollars
HOUSTON, Sept. 19, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — The weekend of October 27-28, 2012, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Houston will hold its 2012 Annual Home Tour featuring eight area homes selected by a jury of industry experts to represent the finest in residential architecture. The two-day, self-guided tour is open to the public and offers attendees a rare opportunity to walk through and view an impressive assortment of privately-owned residences designed by accomplished Houston architects.
"Whether you're contemplating a dream home or just appreciate inspired design, there's something here for everyone," says AIA Tour Chair Shawn Gottschalk.
Featured homes (with approximate square footages) and their architects include:
- 27 Mott Lane, Houston 77024 - 15,000 square feet
- 8730 Memorial, Houston 77024 - 5,700 square feet
- 4917 Laurel, Bellaire 77401 - 4,400 square feet
- 4807 Bellview, Bellaire 77401 - 3,000 square feet
- 2716 Robinhood, Houston 77005 - 3,000 square feet
- 2004 Southgate, Houston 77030 - 2,970 square feet
- 2412 Helena, Houston 77006 - 3,490 square feet

Full-tour tickets good for both days are $25 per person. Single-house tickets are $10 per person. This year, the cyclist-friendly tour offers full-tour tickets for $20 per bike rider. Tickets may be purchased online or at any tour home during the event.
