Engineering company uses industry-leading technology for materials management of major offshore project in Indonesia
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Jan. 9, 2013 — (PRNewswire) — PT Rekayasa Industri (REKIND), one of Indonesia's top engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) companies, has selected Intergraph® SmartPlant® Materials, along with SmartPlant Reference Data and Standard Database, as its materials management system for a major offshore project in Indonesia.
REKIND is one of the contractors for the ExxonMobil Cepu offshore project in Indonesia, which features one of the largest offshore facilities to date. To meet the stringent requirements of this complex project, REKIND needed to implement a sophisticated materials management system. After a comprehensive evaluation, the Indonesian EPCC company determined that a combination of Intergraph's SmartPlant Enterprise solutions (SmartPlant Materials, SmartPlant Reference Data and Standard Database) was the best option for this major offshore project. Using Intergraph technology, REKIND will be able to effectively track materials availability across all disciplines, including piping and electrical, as well as steel structures and plates. PT Everest Technology, Intergraph's local partner in Indonesia, will provide ongoing support and services throughout the implementation process.
"We are very pleased with our choice of SmartPlant Materials as our materials management system for this critical offshore project," said Yusairi, Senior Vice President of Operations at REKIND. "Already, it has helped to streamline our process with easy creation of engineering requisitions and seamless management of the bill of materials for such a complex project. We have used Intergraph's solutions successfully for our other projects, and REKIND expects to gain tremendous value from the implementation of SmartPlant Materials."
