Forte Design Systems Launches YouTube Channel as Part of Enhanced Education, Training Program

Educational Videos on Range of High-Level Synthesis, SystemC Topics

SAN JOSE, CALIF. –– May 7, 2013 –– Forte Design Systems™ ( www.ForteDS.com), the #1 provider of software to enable design at a higher level of abstraction, today launched the Forte Design Systems Channel ( www.youtube.com/ForteDesignSystems) on YouTube as part of its enhanced education and training program.

The channel, with a growing number of videos, addresses a range of topics related to SystemC, High-Level Synthesis (HLS) and Forte’s SystemC-based HLS offering Cynthesizer™. Popular videos include “An overview of HLS” and “An introduction to SystemC for Verilog coders.” The YouTube channel is the latest addition to Forte’s ongoing effort to educate design engineers about the values of high-level synthesis and the process of adopting high-level synthesis in existing design flows.

“The popularity of high-level synthesis continues to grow and engineers are looking for more educational materials to get them started,” says Sean Dart, Forte’s president and chief executive officer. “Short videos are a great way to teach designers about what to expect with high-level synthesis and how to get the most out of SystemC and Cynthesizer.”

Forte’s education program also includes detailed Cynthesizer and HLS methodology training as well as the popular free SystemC tutorial, available at www.ForteDS.com/systemc. Forte’s online Knowledge Base contains more than 600 articles in multiple languages to help Cynthesizer users quickly achieve their goals through education of best design practices.

Cynthesizer is Forte’s high-level design solution that closes the gap between electronic system level (ESL) design and register transfer level (RTL)-to-GDSII flows. It provides a complete design environment that includes behavioral synthesis and verification design methodology management, generating production-quality RTL code using a high-level SystemC-transaction level modeling (TLM) design description as input.

Forte will exhibit at the 50th Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Booth #1547 Monday, June 3, through Wednesday, June 5, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. The DAC website can be found at: www.dac.com.
