It’s that time of year again! For the fourth year in a row, Nemetschek Vectorworks employees and their families participated in the annual Renewal and Remembrance beautification project, sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) and held July 22.
This day of service brought together hundreds of volunteers and landscape and lawn care professionals who spent the day at Virginia’s Arlington National Cemetery mulching, upgrading sprinklers, cabling and installing lightening protection for trees, pruning, liming, planting, and aerating soil. The event also featured a children’s program where kids could plant perennials and participate in the laying of the wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which honors America’s veterans.
“Being a part of Renewal and Remembrance has allowed me and my coworkers to experience a very meaningful event, giving our time, muscle, and sweat for a few hours in one day,” says Eric Gilbey, RLA, Landscape Industry Specialist at Nemetschek Vectorworks. “We look forward to participating each year and giving back something to the burial grounds of those who sacrificed to protect and preserve our freedom.
Event partners included the Irrigation Association, TCIA, and PGMS, with platinum sponsors Caterpillar, Inc. and New Holland Construction.
