Online media registration is now open for journalists to attend
FABTECH, North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event that will be held in Chicago, November 18-21. The event is expected to attract 35,000 manufacturers – a record number - to McCormick Place to view 1,500 exhibits, including live equipment demonstrations, on more than 550,000 net square feet of floor space. Simultaneously, the FABTECH educational conference will offer unique perspectives from expert speakers who will discuss today’s hottest topics in manufacturing.
“Put simply, FABTECH is a ‘must attend’ event for any journalist covering the manufacturing sector today,” said John Catalano, the show’s co-manager. “The Midwest is often considered a hub of US manufacturing and, for four days in November, Chicago will be the hotbed of the latest news and technology in metal manufacturing. The football field at Soldier Field could fit nine times into the show floor at FABTECH this year. All that space will allow journalists to get a close-up view of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. In addition, with a record number of manufacturers planning to attend, journalists can find crucial sources for current and future manufacturing-focused stories.” At this year’s show, FABTECH has expanded the education program to include more than 100 valuable educational sessions, including 64 new courses that have never been offered at previous FABTECH events. In addition to the education sessions, FABTECH will also feature several new
special events this year including two keynote presentations, one by renowned economist Alan Beaulieu and another by former Fighter Pilot and Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier Commanding Officer, Ron Horton. There will also be a panel discussion on workforce development and a professional welding competition. FABTECH 2013 will also include some of the greatest hits from previous shows. The
second annual FABTECH RUN4MFG 5K will be held on the streets of Chicago. Runners and sponsors will have the opportunity to donate to four different charitable organizations supporting the future of the US manufacturing sector. Also, back by popular demand, are the manufacturing CEO roundtable focusing on the state of the industry, a happy hour where attendees and exhibitors can network in a fun and casual setting and a Comedy & Cocktails event that will feature a veteran Chicago improv group.
