Countdown to GIS-Pro 2013

Des Plaines, IL (September 3, 2013) – In just two weeks, the GIS community will convene at GIS-Pro 2013: URISA’s 51st Annual Conference for GIS Professionals (September 16-19). They will share ideas about GIS leadership and management, ROI, strategic planning, collaboration and best practices, and learn about BI technologies, HTML 5 and REST, overcoming web mapping application challenges, and GIS in the Cloud.

Just in… more than 40 AICP CM credits have been approved for GIS-Pro 2013.

An extensive list of workshops, breakout sessions, and panel discussions are on the schedule. Much-anticipated keynote sessions will feature “GovGirl”, the UNH Technology Transfer Center, and Professor Mustard of Brown University who will talk about the Mars Rover. Hear from a panel of Thought Leaders (including Clare Brenner from Tumml and Joe Ferreira from MIT) about the blurred lines between public and citizen facing apps and how they connect to back-office government systems. Of course, there are multiple opportunities to connect with peers and build a strong professional network– so important when searching for solutions to work challenges or career advice.

Participants will take advantage of additional events and opportunities being added daily such as:

  • A three-hour Introduction to Microsoft Project Workshop (Tuesday, September 17)
  • Esri-sponsored events, workshops and labs including:
  • ArcGIS Online Workshop (Sunday, September 15)
  • First-ever Storytelling with Maps Competition (Monday, September 16)
  • Esri's 3D Mapping Lab and LiDAR Lab (Wednesday, September 18)

Make the case and arrange your attendance today. Complete program and registration details are available online:  http://www.urisa.org/education-events/gis-pro-annual-conference/
